I recorded a short-ish vlog a couple days ago: Trans Truths And Conspiracy Theories, and I realise since publishing just how important it is for me to speak my truth on my own experience of being trans.
Because there are so many assumptions, opinions, and rhetoric being shared around in the media (which I include social media) by spiritual influencers, truthers, political influencers, social commentators right now.
And they all base their opinions on massive assumptions. They talk as if they just know. They hold these absolute truths. And it’s very arrogant. Very narrow minded.
So I’m not saying they are 100% wrong, but what I am saying is they are actually blinded by their belief systems.
I don’t know. I guess I want to finally talk a bit more about being trans — just my own perspective — because I have been hiding away for years online not wanting to add my voice into the mix too much. Feeling like I should be in one camp or another. When I’m just in my own camp. And I feel the need to point out the assumptions that are being made.
